2000 was an initiative launched by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, in 2000 to improve the quality of life of the people of Egypt. The initiative focused on providing economic and social development to the country through a number of projects, including the establishment of the Sheikh Zayed Industrial Zone in the Suez Canal area and the Sheikh Zayed Development Fund.
