The Axis 6 October is a major industrial and commercial district in Greater Cairo, Egypt. It is located in the south-western part of Giza Governorate, and is one of the largest industrial zones in Egypt. Covering an area of about 5.27 square kilometers, The Axis 6 October is home to a number of large companies and factories, as well as many small and medium-sized industries. It is estimated that around 20,000 people are employed in the area.
The Axis 6 October was established in the late 1970s, under the leadership of the then-President Anwar Sadat, who saw the need to industrialize Egypt’s economy by creating jobs and boosting the national economy. It was named after the day of the 6th October 1973 war against Israel.
