Talah New Capital is an under-construction administrative capital city located in the heart of Egypt, being built from scratch and with a total area of 70,000 feddans (29,400 hectares) located 45 kilometers east of Cairo, between the Cairo-Suez highway and the Cairo-Ain Sokhna road.
It is set to become a regional hub for technology, finance, media, research and education, making it a major center of economic growth and development in the Middle East and North Africa. Its construction is estimated to cost $45 billion and will be supported by private investments, loans and government funding.
The project began in 2017 under the direction of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and is expected to house over 6 million citizens once completed. It has been divided into several districts, such as a diplomatic district, an International Business District, a Financial and Business Services District, a Technology Park, a Media Production Park, and a Smart City Centre, among others.
These districts are aimed at positioning the city as a major international financial and business gateway, attracting companies and investors from around the world. To this end, it has already secured significant commitments from several international corporations and firms, including some of the world's largest banks, telecom companies and automotive manufacturers.
In addition to its strong focus on business, Talah New Capital will also feature a range of attractions, such as luxurious hotels, recreational parks, and cultural venues. There will also be extensive infrastructure developments focusing on transport, roads and green spaces, as well as health and educational facilities.
The ambitious project is set to be completed by 2023, and is expected to bring a much-needed boost to Egypt's economy and its people. Once it's up and running, it will undoubtedly become one of the most vibrant cities in the region, with the potential to attract even more international businesses and investments.
