Sun Capital is an ancient city located in the Eastern Desert of Egypt, approximately 15 kilometers northwest of the modern town of Abu Simbel. It is believed to have been the capital of an ancient kingdom during the Old Kingdom period of Egyptian history. This city was first discovered by the German archaeologist Hermann Junker in 1930-31.

The city was known for its large pyramid necropolis and associated mortuary temple. It is believed that the pyramid was built by the pharaoh Unas in the 24th century BC. This pyramid, which is referred to as the Sun Pyramid, is unique because its outer surface is decorated with hieroglyphic texts carved directly into the rock.

Sun Capital was also home to a variety of monuments, temples, and structures that have been studied by archaeologists. These include a temple of Hathor, a temple of Amun and Re, a temple of Anubis, a temple of Nebeshedu, and a temple of Isis.
