Soleya 6 October is a major city in Egypt, located in the Giza Governorate, about 20 km (12 mi) southwest of Cairo. It is the site of the ancient city of Heliopolis, one of the oldest cities in the world, and is now a modern industrial and residential suburb of Cairo.

The city was established in the late 1960s as part of a government plan to decentralize Cairo and create new residential and industrial areas. The city was named after the 6 October 1973 War, when Egypt and Syria fought against Israel.
