Solano New Capital Egypt is a planned city in the Greater Cairo metropolitan area of Egypt. It is the largest new urban development project in the Middle East and North Africa region, and is set to become a major commercial and financial hub for the country. The master plan for the new capital was designed by the Spanish firm Valode & Pistre and the engineering branch of Foster + Partners.
The city will occupy a space of up to approximately 700 square kilometers, with an estimated population of up to 7 million people. The project includes various modern amenities, including transportation, education, healthcare, housing, business, culture and entertainment districts. There will be new economic zones, residential neighborhoods, and parks, as well as cultural and natural landmarks.
Solano New Capital Egypt is set to be completed in 2030, and has been funded by a consortium of global investors and financial institutions. It will be developed by a small-scale public-private partnership, with the Egyptian government providing overall direction and oversight. Once completed, it is expected to contribute significantly to the development of the entire country.
