River Green New Capital is an urban development project located in the east of Cairo, near the Suez Canal in Egypt. The project was launched in 2017 by Sabbour Real Estate and Consolidated Developments with the aim to become one of the most sustainable cities in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Spanning over 28 million sqm, the city will be home to over 600,000 inhabitants and will also house commercial, industrial and residential components. The city plans to be self-sustaining in terms of energy, food production and water resources.
The city will include a range of international schools, hospitals and other essential services. River Green will have a variety of essential amenities such as supermarkets, leisure facilities including shopping malls, parks and recreational centres.
The project has collaborated with many international companies and organisations, such as Microsoft, Hyundai, P&G, Siemens, KPMG and Honeywell, to ensure it keeps up with modern technology and provides the optimal living experience for its residents.
River Green also aims to reduce its carbon footprint by using renewable energy sources for its power needs such as solar, wind and geothermal. The city is also committed to urban farming and landscaping, which will reduce its reliance on imported food items.
River Green is set to become a model of environmentally-friendly and socially responsible development in Egypt. It promises to become a top tourist destination due to its unique combination of sustainability and modern lifestyle.
