The Obsidier Tower is a soon-to-be-completed skyscraper located in the New Administrative Capital of Egypt, known as the New Capital. The tower is expected to become a symbol of the modernity and development of the city.
Designed by UAE-based architects, the ZAS Group of Companies, the Obsidier Tower is a 385-meter-high skyscraper, making it one of the tallest buildings in Africa. The tower's design is inspired by the natural formation of obsidian, a volcanic glass that is black and shiny.
The Obsidier Tower will include a large shopping center and a hotel, as well as residential and office spaces. The shopping center will take up the first six floors of the tower, while the hotel will occupy the next 21 floors. The remaining 54 floors will be dedicated to residential and office spaces.
The tower will also have a viewing platform on the 75th floor that will offer breathtaking views of the New Capital and the surrounding area.
Construction of the Obsidier Tower began in 2018 and is expected to be completed by 2022. The tower's construction is part of the Egyptian government's plan to develop the New Capital into a modern, smart city with world-class infrastructure, facilities and services. The New Capital will serve as the administrative and financial capital of Egypt, taking the pressure off the heavily congested Cairo.
The construction of the Obsidier Tower has also created job opportunities for many Egyptians, providing a boost to the country's economy. The tower's developers have also promised to use the latest sustainable and energy-efficient technology to reduce the building's carbon footprint and promote environmental sustainability.
The Obsidier Tower is one of many upcoming skyscrapers in the New Capital, signaling the city's rapid development and potential to become a major economic hub in the region. With its striking design and world-class facilities, the tower is expected to become an iconic landmark of the city and a popular tourist destination.
