The Nyoum Pyramids are a group of ancient Egyptian pyramids located in the Western Desert of Egypt, near the Libyan border. The site is believed to be the remains of a royal necropolis, dating back to the 4th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom (2613-2494 BC).

The Nyoum Pyramids are the largest group of pyramids in the Western Desert and are believed to have been built by Pharaoh Snefru, the father of the famous Pharaoh Khufu. The pyramids are made up of three main pyramids, the largest being the Pyramid of Amun-Ra, and two smaller pyramids. The Pyramid of Amun-Ra is the largest of the three and is believed to have been the burial site of Pharaoh Snefru.

The Nyoum Pyramids are unique in that they are built with a stepped design, unlike the traditional smooth-sided pyramids found elsewhere in Egypt. This design is thought to have been used to reduce the overall weight of the pyramid, making it less likely to collapse. The stepped design also provided additional stability and protection for the burial chambers within the pyramid.

The Nyoum Pyramids are an important part of Egypt's ancient history and are considered to be one of the most important archaeological sites in the country. The site is open to the public and is a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can explore the pyramids and view the hieroglyphs on the walls, as well as take part in tours of the site.
