The Giza Plateau is an area in Egypt situated near the city of Giza, across the Nile River from Cairo. It is home to some of the most famous ancient monuments in the world, including the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Located on the west bank of the Nile River, the plateau is believed to have been used as the necropolis of the Ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.

The Giza Plateau is located on the outskirts of modern-day Cairo, covering an area of approximately 11 km2 (4.25 mi2). It is part of the greater Giza Necropolis, a complex of tombs, temples and ruins which includes the Great Sphinx, the Valley Temple, Solar Boat Museum and several other notable sites. The three major pyramids - the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Great Pyramid of Khafre and the Great Pyramid of Menkaure - are believed to have been constructed between 2589 and 2504 BC.
