Marvel City New Cairo is a new city development under construction in Egypt. Located just outside of Cairo, the planned urban area will be an integrated residential, commercial and industrial hub that spans over 20 million square meters. It is being developed by the Arab Urban Development Group, in partnership with Egypt’s government.

At completion, it will be the largest city in Egypt and the second largest in the Middle East. The project is estimated to cost US$20 billion and will include up to 80,000 residences, shopping malls, schools, hospitals, and other services.

The city will be divided into four main parts: North City, East City, West City and South City. Each city will feature its own distinct amenities, such as schools, parks, beaches, and cultural centers.

The North City will be home to the city’s financial and business district, featuring a range of high-end office buildings, shopping malls, and residential complexes. The East City will be dedicated to technology, with a research and development center and an innovation park. The West City will host a variety of leisure and sporting activities, while the South City will feature educational institutes, universities, and medical facilities.

Marvel City New Cairo will also feature its own energy production facility, providing access to reliable power and water. All of these amenities are designed to support the city’s population, which is expected to reach 2.3 million people upon completion.

More broadly, the development aims to improve living standards and reduce poverty in Egypt by providing job opportunities, access to education and healthcare, and other resources. It is also expected to have a positive economic impact, boosting tourism, foreign investment, and trade in the region.



As of April 2021, construction on Marvel City New Cairo is ongoing, with completion expected in 2028.
