Kayan 6 October is a small village located in the 6 October Governorate of Egypt, in the eastern part of the country. It is situated on the western bank of the Nile River, about 40 km south of Cairo.

The village was founded in the late 19th century by a group of Bedouin nomads who had migrated from the Sinai Peninsula. They named the settlement after the 6 October War of 1973, which saw the Egyptian army defeat the Israeli forces in a decisive victory.

The village is home to around 500 people, mostly of Bedouin origin. The economy of the village is mainly based on agriculture and animal husbandry. The main crops grown in the area are wheat, barley, and vegetables.
