Egypt's Kayan compound is an affordable housing project located in the Giza Governorate of Egypt. Built in 2018, it was designed to provide affordable housing for up to 400 families. The compound consists of sixteen residential buildings with a total of 280 units ranging from 70 to 120 square meters. Each building is equipped with its own set of services such as electricity and water, and there is a central facility to provide security and maintenance services. The compound has been praised for its unique aesthetic that blends in with the surrounding environment and for its affordability. The project has also made efforts to be environmentally friendly by using solar panels for lighting and reducing water consumption. Thanks to its success, more affordable housing projects are planned in the area, expanding the reach of this innovative approach.
