Jedar is an ancient Egyptian city located in the eastern Nile Delta, near the modern city of Ismailia. The city is believed to have been founded by the Pharaohs of the 12th Dynasty, around 2000 BC. It was a major port and trading center in the region, and was also a religious center.
Jedar was an important part of the ancient Egyptian economy, as it was located on the main trade route between Egypt and the Levant. It was also an important center of religious worship, and several temples were located in the city. The most famous of these was the Temple of Horus, which was dedicated to the god Horus.
Jedar was destroyed during the Hyksos invasion of Egypt in the 16th century BC. The city was never rebuilt, and today only ruins remain. The ruins of Jedar can still be seen in the area, and are a popular tourist destination.
