Jedar (also known as Djedar) is an archaeological site located in Egypt, 6 kilometres north-west of the city of El Alamein. It is believed to have been inhabited as early as the fourth millennium BCE and it was an important place for ancient Egyptians, who built several temples. The site consists of a temple dedicated to the goddess Hathor, several smaller shrines, and an enclosure wall. Archaeologists have discovered pottery and stone tools from the Neolithic period, indicating that some form of human activity had taken place at Jedar for thousands of years.

The most remarkable structure at Jedar is the temple dedicated to Hathor, the Egyptian goddess of love, joy, and beauty. The temple was built during the time of the Pharaoh Akhenaton and it is the only known example of a temple dedicated solely to her. The inner chamber of the temple is filled with bas reliefs depicting scenes from the cult of Hathor. The walls also feature images of Hathor, along with inscriptions honoring her.

The other structures at Jedar include several smaller shrines and an enclosure wall. These shrines were likely used for ritualistic purposes and were likely dedicated to other Egyptian gods and
