IL BOSCO New Capital is a new city currently under development in Egypt. The project is part of the government's vision to create a new capital for Egypt, and is being spearheaded by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). Located 45 km east of Cairo, IL BOSCO will be a smart city, with cutting-edge technology and modern infrastructure designed to foster economic growth and development.
The project's master plan was drawn up by the world-renowned architecture firm Foster + Partners and plans to include entertainment, residential, and commercial districts, as well as a seven-kilometer long artificial lake that will double as an eco-park.
The project is divided into three phases and is expected to be completed by 2022. The first phase includes the development of residential districts, sports facilities, a university campus, and a research center. The second phase includes the construction of the business and financial district, as well as the development of hotels, malls, and other commercial areas. The third and final phase includes the completion of the artificial lake, as well as the development of parks, transportation links, and the city's necessary infrastructure.
