De Joya New Capital Egypt is a megacity and business district located east of Cairo in Egypt. It was announced in 2017 by then President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, as part of a governmental plan to intensify development outside of the already overcrowded capital city of Cairo. The project is expected to cost $45 billion and span a total area of 700 square kilometers.

De Joya will serve as an economic hub for the entire country, home to industrial, administrative and financial sectors. It will also provide a wide variety of modern services for its inhabitants. Proposed amenities include world-class healthcare facilities, universities, a technology park, international schools and a series of national monuments.

The new capital will be highly advanced in terms of infrastructure, with major investment into transportation networks, water treatment systems and renewable energy sources. In addition, the city will feature large green areas, a natural reserve and man-made lakes.

De Joya is predicted to be one of the most important developments to have occurred in Egypt since the Great Pyramids were built. Upon its completion, it is believed that De Joya will become one of the largest, most modern cities in the world, rivaling the likes
