SED Developments, a leading real estate developer in Egypt, has announced the opening of Central Mall in the heart of New Cairo, a growing city located east of Cairo. The project aims to provide a modern retail and entertainment destination for residents and visitors, featuring a diverse mix of brands, restaurants, cafes, and cinemas, as well as landscaped outdoor spaces and parking facilities.
Central Mall spans over 38,000 square meters of built-up area, spread over two levels and connected by escalators and elevators. The mall has over 120 shops, offering fashion, beauty, electronics, home appliances, sports, toys, books, and other products from local and international brands such as Zara, H&M, Pull & Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Adidas, Nike, Samsung, Apple, and Carrefour, among others. The mall also has a variety of dining options, including fast-food chains, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and restaurants serving Egyptian, Mediterranean, Asian, and other cuisines, such as Zooba, Crave, Olivo, Chili's, TGI Friday's, and Makani.
Central Mall has also a six-screen cinema complex, operated by Vox Cinemas, which offers the latest movies and an immersive audio-visual experience. The cinema has a VIP lounge, a kids' cinema, and a MX4D theater that simulates environmental effects and motions to enhance the movie-going experience. The cinema lobby has a concession stand that sells popcorn, soda, and snacks.
Central Mall is designed to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for shoppers and families, with natural lighting, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. The mall has also a central court, with a fountain and a stage, which hosts various events, shows, and performances, such as concerts, fashion shows, and children's activities. The mall has a dedicated play area for children, with interactive games and rides, as well as a baby room and a nursing room for mothers.
SED Developments has invested over 1 billion Egyptian pounds (about 63 million USD) in developing Central Mall, which is expected to create hundreds of job opportunities for Egyptians and boost the local economy by attracting more visitors and generating more sales. The company plans to expand its real estate portfolio in Egypt, with a focus on residential, commercial, and hospitality projects, that cater to different segments of the market and combine quality, affordability, and sustainability.
