Cairo Festival City is a new and upcoming real estate development located in New Cairo, Egypt. The project was initiated by Al-Futtaim Group, a leading Middle Eastern conglomerate, to help foster sustainable economic growth in the area. It includes retail, residential and leisure attractions spread over 1.5 million square meters.

The project is being developed in three phases, each one set to bring different experiences. The first phase is centred around a large shopping mall boosted by over 300 stores, a 20-screen cinema, an ice rink and a wide variety of food options. At the same time, the project has been designed with sustainability in mind. The mall has solar panels, energy-efficient lighting systems, motion-activated escalators and more.

The second and third phases of development will focus on residential properties and additional leisure attractions. These include a watersports and beach destination, family entertainment centre and a safe zone for children’s play. The property will also have a high-end hotel, parkland and a private heliport.

Cairo Festival City is set to open in 2021 and is expected to create over 10,000 jobs in the process. It is hoped that the project will bring much-needed foreign direct investment to the area, while providing local communities with quality leisure facilities and entertainment options.
