Badya 6 October is a master-planned community located in the Cairo Governorate, Egypt. It is situated 25 kilometers south-west of downtown Cairo, on the western banks of the Nile River. It was established in 2009 to help alleviate the chronic overcrowding in Cairo, as one of a number of New Towns planned by the Egyptian government.

The aim of Badya 6 October was to provide housing for some 60,000 people and create a modern, self-sufficient city. The location was chosen due to its proximity to existing infrastructure such as electricity, water, sewage, telephone lines, and paved roads.

The planned features of the development include residential neighborhoods, commercial districts, a hospital, schools, parks and other green spaces, and a marina. In addition, Badya 6 October has been designated as a technology park, and is home to several research and development centers.

The development is managed by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), an arm of the Egyptian Ministry of Housing, and is funded by both public and private sources.

Badya 6 October is often seen as a symbol of progress and development in Egypt. Its grand vision and the resources being poured into its development have drawn attention from the international community, with former French president Nicolas Sarkozy being among the most vocal proponents of this project. The development has also been praised by members of the Egyptian government as a positive example of how communities can come together to shape their own future.
