Atika New Capital Egypt is a planned new city being developed near Cairo, Egypt. It is planned to be the new administrative capital of Egypt and is located 45 kilometers (27 miles) east of Cairo. It is being developed with an estimated completion date of 2022. Construction began in 2016, and the project is estimated to cost $45 billion. Atika New Capital is planned to encompass a total area of approximately 700 square kilometers (270 square miles).

It is intended to be a green city, with 40 percent of its area reserved for green space and rivers. The city will have an entirely new infrastructure, which is expected to include hospitals, business centers, hotels, universities, residential areas, and other utilities. When completed, Atika New Capital is anticipated to provide homes for up to 5 million residents.

Atika New Capital will also boast several modern amenities, such as a theme park, a Formula One racetrack, a mall complex, administrative buildings, and a grand mosque. In addition, it will feature a transportation hub connecting it to Cairo, the Suez Canal, the Port Said Airport, and the city’s free economic zone. Plans for the new city also call for a light railway system,
