Atika New Capital Egypt is a planned city located in the desert of Egypt, near Cairo. The city is part of a larger development project known as the New Administrative Capital of Egypt and was unveiled by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in 2017. Atika New Capital is intended to reduce congestion in urban areas, create jobs and provide an alternative residential option for those who want to escape from the bustle of the city.
The city is being built on a total of 12,800 hectares of desert land and is expected to have a population of 4.5 million people, making it the world’s largest planned city. The city is designed to be ultra-modern with luxurious residential areas, business districts, government buildings, public spaces and recreational parks.
The project is being funded by both private businesses and the government and is expected to be completed within 7 years. It will feature a new airport, several international schools and universities, a business hub, IT and media clusters and a theme park. There will also be underground tunnels and road networks connecting Atika New Capital with other parts of Egypt, as well as dedicated transit links from Cairo.
